Our people working at the airport are issued with an airside pass, which means that they have passed the necessary security checks. One of our candidates had been working on a temporary pass while references were being gathered for their permanent one. Unfortunately, referees were slow getting back and their temporary pass expired before their permanent one was issued.

Solution

JBS staff were on the case immediately to get this issue resolved and ended up going to the candidate’s school, and other referee’s places of work to collect the references by hand. We then delivered them to the ID centre and the full airside pass was issued.

The BBR engineering manager for the Road Rail Division based in Hither Green called the office and asked if we could supply mechanical fitters as their current suppliers were failing to send the right candidates. BBR operate a strict preferred suppliers list, so although we said we wanted to help, we said that we wouldn’t be able to supply as we weren’t on the PSL.

Solution

The engineering manager requested we sent through some candidate CVs, and if they were suitable, he would make the internal calls. We sent two CV’s to the engineering manager, and instantaneously received a call from the Balfour Beatty recruitment team inviting us to join their PSL.

Benefits

The two candidates were interviewed, offered and started with Balfour Beatty. We then continued to supply operatives across rail, construction and engineering and have now placed over 30 candidates in our first year across the divisions.
